Overlap of Memory
Fabric Zine  2022

“ Memory is an overlapping flowing river...... ”


 I often find that images or feelings that emerge present in my life can overlap with some of my memories, and I feel that there is an inexplicable similarity in memory that connects our past to the present and future. I was intrigued and fascinated by this, so I began to explore the similarities in my memories.

I found that memory is multi-dimensional, and sensory memories are always memorable. Then I started from strong personal perceptual memories and extracted keywords from them, using these keywords to find other similar memory fragments.

I hope the idea of similarities through personal experiences and memories can be caught through a foldable fabric zine, overlapping my memories with various readers. 





Warm / Enfold

  • The pink I think of when I have insomnia helps me fall asleep  
  • Being in the mother's womb  
  • An animal's ear in the sun
  • Face the sky with your eyes closed
  • The texture of a petal illuminated by the sunlight
  • Warmth is the warm light of a tent in the open field










Alienation / Untouchable

  • Look up at the lights of the city, which are as distant as the stars
  • Outside the park, I saw the merry-go-round spinning merrily 
  • Not a good sportsman; I am a spectator on the sports field
  • Playing with my parents as a child to keep me from catching them
  • Can't remember the faces of my childhood classmates
  • The beautiful untouchable flower in someone else's garden fence










Raw / Youthfulness

  • Expectant eyes of a little girl shyly covering her face
  • Young cicadas emerging from their cocoons
  • Green strawberries with only a hint of red on their green color 
  • Youthfulness is being close to others and whispering to them
  • The faint morning light shining through the veil into the house
  • The sour green apple with your bloody teeth













Itchy / Prickly

  • When you feel the itch, your sweat hairs stand up
  • The body feels itchy when the delicate raindrops
  • Fuzzy bees covered in pollen
  • Itching is a red pimple that appears as an allergy to the skin
  • Jittery black and white dots appear on old TV
  • Itchy is the harsh sound of stainless steel objects rubin











Wet / Blurred / Misted

  • The crystal dew you see when you wake up in the morning
  • Reflections of trees and water plants in a pool
  • Rolling on the grass, the greens of the sky and ground are mixed
  • The fog on car windows during a rainy day
  • The spring breeze mixes with the green of the willow trees
  • The breath exhaled on a snowy day turns into white smoke









Dreamy / Evanescent 


  • Fish in captivity, plastic water plants 
  • A mussel shell rough exterior and a colourful world insides
  • Industrial oil on the ground also gives off a variety of colours 
  • City lights at those nights
  • The colourful refraction of an insect's wings in the sunlight
  • The surface of the bubble flows with colour in the sunlight
